Most of the candidates are hypocrites. They change direction like a sailboat tacking in the wind. Every time the political winds blow the other way they seems to change their course. Can we believe them? Are they just telling us what we want to hear? I cannot remember when most politicians ever answered the same question twice with the same answer. It seems their answers and rhetoric are dependant on their audience at the time they open their mouths. Why do they always seem to answer a question with a question? I sometimes listen to the interviews and scratch my head. Sometimes to my wife’s chagrin, I scream at the television, "Why don't you answer the question." Maybe if they stuck to the issues more people would have more respect for them.
If you want to represent this country as the most powerful leader in the free world, you had better have the answers to the questions. As questioners, we have the right not to like the answers, but those being questioned must answer them now or we will give them our answer on Election Day. As my dad used to say, "Don't ask the question if you think you may not like the answer." Let us look back at the hypocrisy of some of our political leaders some who even want to be President. Like Senator John Kerry (D-MA) once said. "First I voted for the war after I voted against it." On the other hand, was it the other way around, I am still confused. Call me undecidable. Hillary criticized the FBI for not providing the documents related to the Oklahoma City bombing in a timely manner. However, it took the former first lady over 2 years to turn over subpoenaed evidence relating to the White Water case. Call me unreliable.
During an NBC interview a week after the 9/11 attacks, Hillary told Jane Pauley that "When the two planes hit the World Trade Towers, her daughter was at Battery Park jogging. She was going to jog around the twin towers but decided to get a cup of coffee instead when the first plane hit." Was she trying to illicit sympathy from her audience? She should have checked with Chelsea first. Chelsea claims when the planes struck the towers that she was uptown at a friend’s apartment having breakfast while watching the attack on television. Do you know how congressional representatives vote? The can see the votes of their colleagues before they lock in their vote. They have time to change their mind. Therefore, when they see that the vote is going the other way they change their vote. This way they cannot say I voted against something, I went along with the crowd. Well, going along with the crowd is not why you were elected.
