Dealing with difficult people at the workplace is an interesting study.It is human nature to observe people that you have to work with. We have all done that. Everyone has good and bad days, no matter how dedicated to a job you are. However, there are those people that just stand out in a given day. You know who they are. They come in different varieties.It all starts at the time clock, before your shift begins. There they stand, grumbling about one thing or another and threaten to leave. That should tell us a little about the attitudes of the ambitious, who know what is best for everyone else, in all cases. In 1954, the words, under God, were added to the Pledge of Allegiance. It only took a week or two to remember them each day in the classroom. But then, what is a pledge? What is allegiance? Why pledge it to an object such as a flag? What is a republic? What is the difference between a nation under God and one not under God? How does one put a nation under God or remove it? Twelve years of government approved education never answered these questions and the pledge seemed a silly thing to me, all those years. I had to join the military to see how the pledge prepared my mind for the Oath of Allegiance I was now required to swear. That oath was more confusing still.
