    Ourselves and Reality Television
Let's face it, even if we don't watch reality television, it's increasingly difficult to ignore. One of my ex-colleagues called to rant about his wife. He can hardly enjoy a good dinner with her. She’s hooked on reality television shows; so are his two young adult children. Yes, television reality programs enrapt us, while show hosts transform our gardens, our houses, bodies and faces right in front of us. The more extreme the makeover, the more we like it, the more we enjoy the show. We watch intently, while we think about ourselves. If only our dull lives are different, if only our modest apart
    er day, after day!

It’s not easy and God doesn’t just dump the huge blessings on you because you do one thing right. Right actions become righteous living because of the time factor. Day in and day out, you have to choose to live the life of a devoted child of God if you want God’s greatest blessings. I used to wonder how amazing David must have been to have been such a great figure in the bible and be a man after God’s own heart. I start really getting a picture of David’s successes when I read through the Psalms. David didn’t win battle after battle and create a huge kingdom because he was so smart; he did it on his knees. He sought God constantly in every decision; when he was victorious and when he was in trouble. His devotion to God is what made him great.

We too can possess the permanent blessings that Job had and win great favor with God by devoting each and every day to the Lord. This doesn’t mean that we’ll

How To Use The New Social Bookmarking Revolution
Every new internet innovation, from newsgroups and email to banner ads and popup ads, have allowed smart marketers to make a lot of money, and in most cases that money was made to those who were able to recognize a new trend early on and find ways to use that innovation to their advantage. One of the newest and most potentially valuable trends in the world of the internet is that of social bookmarking, and those who are able to understand and use this trend should be able to profit from it handsomely.Social networking is an incredibly useful phenomenon, and one of those things that people will
There are a lot of principles, keys, steps, and how to’s of life that all seek to provide the blueprint to blessed and successful living. Everyone is looking for that ‘magic pill’ that will cure this or fix that. Here in the book of Job we have an example of a man who was immensely wealthy, powerful, respected, and famous. Not only did he possess earthly wealth but he was God’s prized possession; meaning God was the One who gave him the success. Why Job? What made him so special? You may want to know how you can receive this kind of blessing in your life. If you want the Job blessing, read on.

God is a holy God and He calls us to be holy as He is holy. We see in the first few verses of the book of Job what the key to his blessed life were; holiness, reverential fear of God, and devotion to God. Back before the Ten Commandments and the Laws, Job was a living example of a righteous man who hid the Laws of God within his heart. Because of this, God was able to bless Job and put a hedge of protection around his blessings. God wants to do the same thing in all of our lives, but if we can’t handle the blessings God gives, He won’t give them.

It does no good to reward a child who’s been acting badly all week with a movie and pizza party. The kid will only get worse and abuse the privileges he gets. God is our Father and He wants us to become great people and use His blessings for good; so why would He reward bad actions with increased blessings?

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” Matthew 6:33. This is exactly the promise that we see fulfilled in the life of Job. Job woke up every morning and sought God’s kingdom. Verse 5 says that he would sacrifice a burnt offering for each himself and each one of his children just in case they may have sinned against God. He took from his wealth and made an offering to the Lord from whom his blessings flowed.

If we want to walk in the blessings of Job then we have got to put God first in our lives, we need to do it everyday, and we need to do it with a spirit of reverence, fear, and humility before God. When I really started getting serious about honoring God so that I could have a better relationship with Him, my wife and I started doing what we felt God telling us to do in our spirit; which was to devote 2 hours to Him every morning. Now granted, God had been telling us to do that for about 2 years. But we finally got to the point where God was more important than some extra sleep or extra work. God showed us that it was truly Him that had been giving us the success in our work up to that point and He told us that He had so much more to give, but we could only receive it if we learned to put Him first.

You see, my wife and I can tend to be workaholics because we are business owners and we love our work; yet it’s God who gives us the work and the love for it. We don’t want to grow in business and start forgetting to be as passionate about God or fall into sin because our hearts are lukewarm, so we finally made the commitment to devote ourselves to God first thing every morning, pray during the day, pray at night, and listen to the bible on tape as we go to sleep at night. I want to walk in Spirit and in Truth as God calls us to, so we began to constantly infiltrate our day and minds with the Word and devotion so our minds wouldn’t get off track.

I share this with you because I just now understand that people don’t just become great men and women of God by osmosis. God doesn’t just choose who will be great and who He’s going to suppress in mediocrity. Many are called but few are chosen because only a few people make the commitment to devote themselves to God, day, after day, after day!
