Perhaps it’s simply because I’m at that age, but I’ve noticed that over the past few years the number of young adults still living with their parents has risen considerably. As a kid, I remember gleefully imagining the days when I would be free from the shackles of my parents, out on my own, and doing whatever the hell I wanted, and every friend I had shared enthusiastically in that dream. So why, now that we are grown up, are so many of us staying at home with Mam and Dad until they have grown desperate for their freedom from us?

I say us, because I am one of the guilty too. I’m twenty-nine years old, and only living in my own home a few years – purchased, it has to be added, with financial help from my parents. My Mother was completely supportive of my living with her but since I have moved out has waxed extremely lyrical about how great it is to be living on her own, and thinking only of herself. Can Cell Phones Really Give You Brain Tumors?
Can cell phones really give you brain tumors? While I may not be an expert on the subject, this question has undoubtedly plagued people's minds since cell phones were invented. Both sides of the argument make valid points, and it may be true that if you are susceptible to cancer (tumors) or have it in your gene pool you run a greater risk. Such a brain tumor is extremely rare, however. I believe in order to really examine how you might get a tumor from a mobile, we should first delve into a little electrical engineering knowledge, coupled with some biochemistry. It has been known for some time that ever

    Checklist For Powerful Profitable Headlines
A couple weeks ago, I decided to ALTER the headline for a product that I sell. After reviewing my stats, I was amazed to realize that by nothing other than changing the WORDS that appeared in my headline, I was able to more than double my sales!A REVELATION"Why hadn't I implemented this earlier," I silently whispered to myself. I mean, I knew all along that a great headline can DRAMATICALLY improve sales. Yet, caught up in so many other marketing strategies, I failed to recall and act upon the pure profit potential of a powerful headline. You can bet that I will be experimenting with my headline more

The Four Major Forms of Fundraising
Fundraising is, without a doubt, extremely challenging work. For any of you with experience in this line of work, you will understand what I mean. For the rest of you, go out and volunteer your time with a local non-profit organization. After that, I think you will understand. While this can be a challenging profession, it continues to be quite rewarding in many respects. This article was drafted with the new fundraising coordinator in mind. So listen up, kids! There are four major forms of fundraising. When one mentions fundraising to the average person, the image of a well-meaning person going door-t

Save the Environment – Trash the Soul
In Pennsylvania a seventy five year old grandmother is arrested for witnessing of her faith in God to someone on the street. A supposedly well trained and disciplined astronaut is arrested for attempted kidnapping and murder. In Ontario Canada a man is forced to read a Muslim book as punishment for a perceived hate crime, speaking out against Muslim extremism. In February national news agencies have announced that teen suicides have risen sharply and there are internet websites that discuss the business of taking your own life available for teens who know how to find them. Not that long ago the items listed a
how great it is to be living on her own, and thinking only of herself. What with raising her two, at times difficult children, to the loss of her husband, my Dad, a few years ago, I think it’s about time she started looking after herself. I say that now, but still expected to be welcomed at her house well into my adult years. Such are our mixed feelings about living with our parents. We want the best of all worlds.

My generation has received, in my own opinion, more bad press than it deserves. We aren’t all the materialistic and self-involved brats that many older people seem to think us, but perhaps that is simply something every generation thinks of the one before. But there is little denying that things are different for us these days. At fifteen, my Mam was sent out to work, and gave up almost every penny she earned to keep the household afloat. As many of her generation did, she tried to give her children the things she never had herself, and as the Irish economy improved, this was much easier to do. Though I do not consider myself
