Lingo Franca: Overcoming Language Barriers Within the Same Language
Are you on the same page with your customers? If not, perhaps there’s simply a page missing. A page you design to help merchants, customers, clients and even co-workers speak the same language, use the same terms and communicate the same meanings. Name That Sound! Recently when I called my auto mechanic to complain of a new sound my car was making the conversation went something like this: “Patti, it’s making a creaking noise.” “Do you mean like a door with rusty hinges opening?” “No, Patti, more like wood burning in a fireplace” I told her. “Oh, Mr. Harrison, that’s considered a cracking noise.” She’d obviously done this before. Several questions later we identified my car’s problem over the phone. Now we were cli

My Credit Affects My Car Insurance Rate?
You probably know that lenders use information in your credit report to determine if they'll give you credit. But did you know that in some states, insurance companies also consider your credit history? Good or bad, your credit history may affect your ability to purchase homeowners or auto insurance coverage and help determine what premium you'll pay. For example, consider these scenarios: Two years ago, you were unemployed for six months. Before you could find a new job, you fell behind on several credit card payments. Now your auto insurance rates are going up, even though you've never filed a claim against your policy. You've always paid your bills on time, and you've always paid cash instead of applying for credit. Why
As a home schooler, teaching our children how to learn should be a primary goal. Learning is more than facts and figures. It involves the ability to think, analyze, and use the thought process. In short, to know how to learn and how to apply the knowledge to everything.

Who said this? "The end goal of any society as it addresses the problem of education is to raise the ability, the initiative and the cultural level, and with all of that the survival level of that society."

Do you agree with the concept? The key to a dynamic society is to value learning and education. Our goal as home schoolers should be to instill an insatiable quest for learning in our children. Knowing the pitfalls along the way is critical. This is the foundation of the study technology that supports the above-mentioned quote.

Don't freak out or stop reading this article when I tell you who made above statement, because the study technology created by this visionary is extremely valuable. I am talking about a technology - not a philosophy. You must separate these concepts!

The person who made the above quoted statement was L. Ron Hubbard, the founder of Scientology. Because of the antics of Tom Cruise, the religion of Scientology is relegated to the kook fringe. And it probably should be.

Separate the religion/philosophy of Scientology from their study technology. I am NOT a Scientologist. I do not support or subscribe to their religion. I do not pretend to be knowledgeable of the beliefs or the religious parts of Scientology. But I do know first hand the value of their study technology in their educational program of Applied Scholastics.

Gas Rebate Cards Can Save You Money at the Pump
Many people are only familiar with the gas credit cards offered at the gas station. These credit cards are tied to one specific gas station and often charge very high interest rates. However, individuals looking to save money on gas this summer should look no further than the wide range of low interest gas cash back credit cards currently available online. These credit cards offer the flexibility of choosing which gas station to use, as well as anywhere from 3% to 10% cash back on all gas station purchases.Currently, the Chase Perfectcard offers a full 6% rebate on all gas purchases made during the first 90 days you have your card, followed by 3% thereafter and 1% cash back on all other purchases. With a gas price of $3.00 per gallon, this card wo

Tax Free Profits With Real Estate
Want to make tax free profits from the homes you live in? You can, but to maximize this investment strategy, you'll need to move a lot.Sell your home for a profit and pay no capital gains tax - then buy another and do the same. That is the essence of this strategy. The law used to be that you could only roll your capital gain into the next home, and take an exemption once in your life, after age 55. This more or less meant that you had to keep buying more expensive homes to avoid the tax on your gain, and then you got a one-time exemption when you were older. The change in the law was almost a decade ago, but many people have still not understood what it means. As the tax law is now, you are exempt from any tax on the capital gain from the sale

IRS Gives Victims of Hurricane Katrina More Relief
The IRS has announced further tax relief for victims of Hurricane Katrina due to slow clean up efforts and obviously devastated areas. The IRS is giving relief to both businesses and individual taxpayers in certain areas that have been absolutely wiped out. Instead of being required to file in March or April, depending on whether the payer is a business or individual, all taxpayers in certain regions will have till August 28, 2006. Further, the IRS is waiving all late filing penalties on people in the impacted areas even if they don’t file by the August 28, 2006 deadline. This automatic extension represents a very positive move by the IRS, but readers should keep in mind it doesn’t apply to all areas. Only the most severely damaged areas get to t

How To Maximise Your Chances Of Creating A Great Relationship Next Time
Some people are instinctively better at relationships than others. It may be something that they learned from watching how their own parents relate. It may have come about as a result of having a strong sense of self-worth instilled in them by parents and a loving, supportive circle. If your past relationships ended in disappointment, hurt and disillusionment, maybe picking good potential partners is not one of your natural gifts. But it is something you can learn. So how do you do it?· Take new relationships SLOWLY. In the early days of a relationship it’s easy to forget to ask for information. Don’t play ‘join up the dots’. Find out all you can about the wonderful new person in your life. Don’t assume that if he/she says or does X
the value of their study technology in their educational program of Applied Scholastics.

Ron Hubbard's study technology and the Applied Scholastics curriculum addresses the foundation of all learning. It focuses on our brains, its operation and how to train it. The study technology does not promote or intrude on your personal beliefs. The study technology is NOT the religion! It can run parallel to and support any type of religious or secular home school curriculum. It has no spiritual or philosophical component at all. I want to underscore this point because I understand the fear of this religion.

Let’s get back to the key goal of educating our children and I will attempt to explain this study technology. When people learn a subject, this process can get short-circuited or blocked and the path to mastering it can be derailed. What if that blockage could be identified and cleared up at that precise moment it occurs so the learning could continue, the mastery achieved and frustration avoided? Would that be the answer to your prayers? That in a nut shell is the study technology of Applied Scholastics .

The fundamental premise is that there are three barriers to learning that interrupt the flow, create resistance and frustrates the learning process. It also explains how to identify these barriers, provide methods to fix them, and encourages natural flow of learning. This concept is important to the education of our children.

These barriers inhibit learning and can result in a shutdown of the process. This shutdown can be seen in schools today as the runaway diagnosis of learning disabilities, behavior problems or just boredom with learning, all resulting in a disinterested student body and society.

Mr. Hubbard explains that when a student hits one of these barriers, the trained instructor can identify it, clear it up, and resume the natural flow of learning.

I will define these barriers and explain ho
