seminars to be.What are the differences between opportunity seekers and successful business people when it comes to building an online business? Let me use myself as an example. Ouch!As a Web Marketing Newbie, I really had no plan outside of slapping up a website and selling all kinds of goodies and then watching the money roll in. But, I discovered the wonderful world of the Business in a Box, which countless Gurus were offering at a measly $40 to $50 2. Hired a coach. Again, this was another tough decision to make, but I'm really glad I did. It's difficult to see your business objectively, so having a neutral observer on your Your Yellow Page Ad Has a Fatal Flaw! All in all, I'm pretty happy with how 2005 turned out. My business is taking off. I've
built a solid foundation to support even more growth (which I forecast for 2006) and
I've even managed to take some time off.I’ve been designing Yellow Page ads for the past 25 years. During that time, I was a YP rep and consultant and, prior to that, had my own advertising agency. (And that doesn't even include the great information I absorbed and was able to put to use in both my business and my clients' businesses.) If you only put one of my 5 tips to use, this would be the one to do -- that's how valuable I've discovered attending seminars to be. 2. Hired a coach. attribute to my successful 2005.Some people have always known what their dream career is but some haven’t quite worked it out. Dissatisfaction with your career cannot always be fixed with a promotion or a pay rise. Sometimes we actually don’t ‘fit’ our chosen occupation. Perhaps you’ve always wanted to be a landscaper but have wound up as an accountant. Perhaps you would love to be a nanny, but found yourself working as a receptionist. There’s that saying about the square peg 1. Attended seminars. This one is HUGE. Nothing beats getting out of your office and away from your computer and actually meeting people face to face. Cubicles are in fact an economic substitute for private offices. All the companies could not provide private offices to their each and every staff member, whereas cubicles do the same work at an affordable cost.Cubicles provide a certain amount of independence, and save money. You see as I was driving down the road today this guy was talking on his cell phone writing on a clip board and flying down the highway.Apparently I did not see his turn signal as he tried to merge over so he set down his clip board opened his sun roof and stuck his middle finger out the sun roof further than I have ever seen anyone do ever. That includes 2. It's difficult to see your business objectively, so having a neutral observer on your team is extremely valuable. Coaches help you get out of your own way (and believe me, that's a biggie for us entrepreneurs.) They can help you with both your inner game (your habits and mindset) and your outer game (your skills and business structure). 3. Started systemizing my business. Yes, all businesses should have systems in place, even if you don't have anyone else working for you and you primarily sell services. The best part is when you do have systems in place, your business suddenly starts running a lot more efficiently and effectively (and you can start sleeping better at night and relaxing on vacation). 4.
