    Love - Begin With Vigor After Failure

    There is an issue that not many people address when they are talking about the physical side effects of anorexia nervosa. There are internal organ problems, GI tract issues, and brain malfunction, yes, but do you ever hear about the hormonal trauma that goes on in the body when someone suffers from this eating disorder?

    There are numerous accounts of hormonal imbalance and improper function when one is starving to death, and I hope to present these issues to you to better inform you when aiding someone with, or recovering from an eating disorder.

    Amenorrhea:

    Amenorrhea is a symptom of something going wrong in the body, and accounts for more than 66 percent of all female athletes who do not eat properly, and over-work themselves to a state of starvation. The same can go for those young women who do not eat, and starve themselves. Symptoms of Amenorrhea include:

    * Low blood estrogen.
    * Infertility.
    * And Boner Mineral Loss.

    Purging the body of food (a common practice of anorexic people) by way of excessive training can leave the body in a starved state, as well. It doesn’t just come from lack of food. Overtraining, low body weight, depleted body fat, and a poor intake of nutrition all contribute to hormonal imbalances that lead to Amenorrhea.

    Amenorrhea usually leads to bone mineral loss, as stated above, which, for the most part, is slightly irreparable, and could lead to the second issue in poor nutrition: Osteoporosis.
