If we look closely at the nature of competition we may notice that it is based on the "need to win". Now some will say that winning is about feeling better about and with one's self. The question then becomes, well how does that person feel when that need is not satisfied? Well, probably not so good about themselves.

The question is then, why are they not feeling so good about themselves to start with?
