It is a Christian organization that makes it a point of sending emails out to let us know just what is going on right under our noses. Of course none of what they send ever makes it on the news. Jeremiah was known as the "weeping prophet" because the people of Israel wouldn't listen to what God told him. They insisted on doing their own thing. Today people treat God's Word as if it's nothing. God grieved for them and He is grieving for us now.

What Jeremiah is saying in this passage is that the one and only reason we should not listen to false prophets today is because they don't speak God's Word. It was the same for the people of his time. God doesn't change from generation to generation. That's why His Word still speaks truth today. It's the same message.
