One day of hypocritical prayer does not balance out negative actions during the rest of the week.

Think of it this way. If someone wanted to talk to the CEO of a multi-national company they would not be able to. If that person called the executive branch they would probably have to go through many layers of people and still not speak directly to the CEO. They might get to the private secretary, or eventually get to a senior vice president, but the odds of calling directly, and having the CEO pick up the phone and talk to that person, are
