Secrets We Keep From Those We Love
Everyone keeps a few secrets from their romantic partners. And people keep their secrets for a lot of reasons. Often people are embarrassed or they are fearful of a partner's hostility or possible rejection. And research shows that it is in one's best interest to keep some things private, especially when partners are likely to respond poorly to the truth. Being rejected, scorned, or stigmatized does not help any one work through a serious issue. But, keeping secrets can also be harmful.Keeping secrets often prevents people from dealing with the problem at hand. Keeping secrets leads to increased stress, anxiety, and it often makes people think about the issue (event or topic) more frequently. For instance, people who have a secret crush on someone often dwell on their feelings more than people who are able to talk about their feelings out in the open. More often than not, keeping something secret makes it seem more important than it really is.Likewise, revealing secrets is very helpful when it is done right; that is, in a safe, non-judgmental environment. Revealing secrets can reduce stress, it helps people let go of an issue and think about it more clearly. If a secret is bothering you, it really does help to get it out - as long people don't respond negatively or use the information against you.In fact, research shows that the simple task of writing down a secret, even if no one ever reads it, makes people feel bet

This article is the 1st part of an open response to a question that I encountered online a few years ago in one of the many Martial Arts Ninjutsu forums. The question (paraphrased) was:

“What are the 5-elements (earth, wind, water, wood and metal) about that I have seen mentioned in books on ninjutsu?”

As is so often the case when dealing with multiple personality types, egos, and the need for instructors to justify their positions and philosophies, the question went unanswered. What followed for several days was a sidebar discussion about the "rightness" or "wrongness" of a particular teaching model. In short, the poor student's question went unanswered.

What follows began as a brief attempt to help the student resolve his dilemma and, eventually, turned into a three-part series. The metaphysical lore of the East is, quite logically, intertwined with the arts associated with the Shadow Warriors of Japan. Iowa Chiropractic Schools
Iowa chiropractic schools offer professional training in the practices of chiropractics to provide natural healing to those with skeletal and joint problems. The first chiropractic school was founded in Davenport, Iowa, in 1897 by D. D. Palmer just two years after he performed the first recorded chiropractic adjustment. Chiropractic medicine soon set a path to this new approach to health care that has since grown into the second largest licensed health care profession in the United States. Chiropractic schools in Iowa continue the tradition, teaching this beneficial form of natural healing to thousands annually.Iowa chiropractic schools provide extensive programs in chiropractic medicine, which emphasize prevention of disease and disability through natural means without drugs or invasive surgery. Rather than the traditional approaches to medicine, chiropractic schools teach students structural and neurological aspects of the body and how to provide treatment for correcting physical misalignment and various ways to address disease prevention.Chiropractic is generally considered an alternative or complementary form of health care. Students study many of the usual medical sciences - anatomy, biology, chemistry, pathology - but also study nutrition, communication skills, psychology, counseling, X-ray, diagnostics, and practical hands-on clinical treatment. In Iowa chiropractic schools, students can expect to receive thorough preparation in alternative healt

7 Tips to Real Estate Agent's Success: Tip #1 First and Foremost YOU are a Business
Real estate agents work for a broker, but are independent, commissioned sales people. This means that you are a small business and must run your practice as a business. Again, remember you are a small business owner.Within the training curriculum in becoming a real estate agent, the training focuses on the knowledge about laws and policies with very little addressing that the real estate agent is an independent business owner. Since agents must work with a broker, this relationship suggests that only the broker is the business owner. Yet, the real estate agent is a paid independent contractor or a sole proprietor.Changing this belief is where each real estate agent must begin if she or he truly wants to have a successful real estate practice. And to change this belief is not simple because of the very reasons why the person decided to join this profession. After all, real estate is considered to be an almost turnkey business with the added benefit of not having to manage all that business stuff. With incredible income potential, this profession, as reflected through the over 2 million registered real estate agents, continues to attract new agents.Since many individuals enter this career profession with the assumption that the broker is the business owner, they fail to begin planning their business simultaneously as they are learning the business of real estate. These assumptions may include that the broker will handle all administrative actio

Term Life Insurance Quotes for Singles
Should singles consider getting term life insurance quotes? Contrary to what many believe, it makes sense for all adults, regardless of marital status, to have life insurance. And since life insurance premiums increase with age, getting a term life insurance quote while you’re young, single and healthy makes good financial sense. If you’re single and think you don’t need life insurance, consider the following reasons why it might make sense for you.Do you have dependents?Being single does not necessarily mean you have no dependents. You may have children from a previous marriage or you might have parents or grandparents who depend on you for financial support. In either case, these people will be impacted should you die prematurely. They’ll lose you as well as a source of income.A life insurance policy naming your children, parents and/or your grandparents as beneficiaries will ensure you’re able to help out financially even after you’re gone. Get a term life insurance quote and you’ll see that the price you’ll pay is worth the peace of mind you’ll get in return.Do you have loan obligations?Life insurance is something you should definitely consider if you have a loan that is in your name and that of a cosigner. A cosigner doesn’t have to be a spouse. It can be a friend, relative, co-worker, even a roommate. If you die unexpectedly and your name is listed on a loan, your cosigner becomes 100% responsible for repaying tha

Often, the influences are obvious, as in the use of the Shinto ceremony of respect and acknowledgment used to open and close classes; others, like the 5-element classification systems are not as apparent.

Many of the books on ninjutsu, as well as the over-abundance of “New Age” tomes on the market, written by less-than-knowledgeable individuals, make reference to a system of classifying all that exists in the universe. This system of 5 Elements is actually 2 systems; each used to describe a different process. Unfortunately, the information is often offered in one of three ways. They are:

    • 1. Light-heartedly, in an erroneous comparison with something else with a similar name

    • 2. Incorrectly listed, as with this student's listing, combining the two into one

    • 3. Juxtapositioning the symbolic meanings
