Here’s how to create the attitude that ensures your success now: Step One: Each and every time someone asks “How are you?” answer with an empowering word that makes you feel good, such as: “Fantastic!” “Wonderful!” “Terrific!” “Doing great!” Or you could use my personal favorite: “If I were any better, I’d be twins!” Don’t be surprised if the person you’re talking to gets a big grin on their face and wants to know more … You can set yourself up for success by adding one or more of the following to your daily practices: • Write positive, present-tense affirmations and say one of them at least 400 times a day. • Associate with as many positive people as you can – create your “dream team” or “inner circle” – these are the people who will be your cheering section! • Educate to motivate - read 15-20 minutes per day from an uplifting book, and listen to motivational CDs in your car, while you’re working out, cleaning the house or doing mundane paperwork Step Two: Get Back to Basics. Spend some time in the near future and make sure your attitude is one that you’d want to catch if it weren’t already yours. Determine what the fundamental activities are for your particular business, and do them! Be sure that you’re living above reproach, because in the end it is “the word on the street” (your reputation) that will either move your forward or hold you back.
