Game of the Month: Milwaukee Brewers Vs. Arizona Diamondbacks
We chose the Milwaukee Brewers 9/15/05 as our September Game of the Month and saw them bust out for 7 runs in the top of the 3rd inning to take an early 9-0 lead. They increased that lead to 12-0 in the fourth. This was a cakewalk and one of our easiest Game of the Month predictions. Not only were the odds for these Brewers better than any standard basketball game, the probability for them to win was greater than every NBA basketball game I handicapped last season. We analyzed this game from a multitude of angles and saw absolutely no reason these Brewers should have been -104.The spread for this game was set so low because the Brewers are not a team that is going to be supported by bettors especially on the road.First, the Brewers have been playing well having won 6 games L10 going up against a struggling Diamondbacks from the weak NL West. The Brewers are an above 500 team against the NL West. The home field advantage is a legitima
Sheffield lies in the North of England, about 65 kilometers east of Manchester in South Yorkshire. Chartered as the City of Sheffield in 1893 due to it’s origins in a field on the River Sheaf. The population tops a half million citizens now, with a workforce over a million strong residing within an hours drive of the city. Sheffield’s fortunes have long been shaped by world events and external forces that forced the residents of Sheffield to adapt and innovate in order to survive.

Sheffield Castle was built after the Norman Conquest to oversee the local settlements in what is now the heart of the city. The market that grew around the Castle, in what is now Castle Square, made Sheffield a market town just prior to 1300 A.D. Over the next century, Sheffield became well known for the fine cutlery that was produced and sold there, and by 1600 the town was the known to be the center of Cutler Production in all of England, earning a mention in Chaucer’s “The Canterbury Tales”.

Sheffield was on the “cutting edge” so to speak of cutlery technology in those early years, and the invention and improvement of several processes in the mid 1700’s revolutionized metallurgy. Crucible Steel and silver plating placed Sheffield squarely in the lead in metallurgy in the world. Sheffield grew as an industrial center, and was a great producer of steel until a recession from the loss of import markets at the end of the 18th century. Conditions in the city deteriorated, and a cholera epidemic killed over 400 people in 1832. The huge amounts of wealth created by the large steel producers tended to stay at the top of the hiarchy, while the unchecked pollution, overcrowding, and disease made its way to the masses.

    Relationships: Fear Of Being Honest
The fear of being honest.Isn't that something you've struggled with at some point in your relationship? Well I'm sure more than once. They belief is that honesty can be hurtful to the other person and therefore could have negative repercussions for you. Perhaps make you feel like a hurtful person, guilty, responsible for damaging the relationship and so on.I would like you to think again however. There is one way to point out the negative repercussions of dishonesty.Suppose you were the "other" and your partner was facing the choice as to whether to be honest with you or not about something.Which would you prefer? Him or her to be honest or dishonest? In other words would you prefer to be lied to, to be led along as if you were thought of as an emotionally weak or vulnerable individual? How would this make you feel? Well of course diminished, angry, betrayed, and hurt to name a few.On the other hand

Websites With Purpose - Who Is Your Ideal Customer?
Shooting Fish In A BarrelReading ads for making websites might give someone the impression that doing business on the internet is easy. It is like shooting fish in a barrel. Pay someone a few hundred dollars, put up an online store in 30 minutes, and watch the money start pouring in.If only that were true. The internet is a wonderful place. It provides all of us with access to the entire world. It gives the small business owner the ability to put his store on digital Main Street. But even that doesn't guarantee instant sales.I grew up in south Florida. Consequently I spent a lot of time on the water. Whether under or on top of the surface I was always trying to catch fish. Sometimes, donned in scuba gear, I would seek out my prey where it lived. At other times I used bait to draw my potential catch to the surface. But my attempts were always calculated.I saw other fishermen use a different approach. The

How to Create Great Dialogue in Your Book
Dialogue isn’t so much read as it is heard by the reader. The eyes see the words on the page, the brain processes the thought, but then that little voice we all have in the back of our head becomes the character and actually says the words. We immediately hear those words and decide whether the dialogue is legitimate. We decide whether the character, as we know him or her so far, would actually talk that way. If we don’t know the character at all, we use a very broad baseline and decide whether we’d accept a stranger on the street talking that way.So to develop a winning technique for writing dialogue, you’ve got to listen to the way people speak. Family members, relatives, strangers, people on the telephone. What do they sound like? You’ll notice that they almost all speak in short sentences. Two, perhaps three sentences at the most before they expect someone else to chime in.Their paragraphs really do focus on just one though

The start of the industrial revolution brought people back to the city over the next few decades, and clean drinking water was necessary to avoid the deadly diseases of 1832. New reservoirs built on the outskirts of the city helped keep the water supply disease free, but the collapse of a dam wall at one site in 1864 caused the Great Sheffield Flood, which resulted in the deaths of 270 people and widespread damage to the city.

The early 1900’s saw Sheffield again noted in literature as George Orwell called Sheffield the “Ugliest town in the Old World” in “The Road to Wigan Pier” written in 1937. The combination of quickly built slums to house the growing numbers of working people, and the pollution from the factories they manned made Sheffield a less than attractive city. The invention of stainless steel in 1913 by a Sheffield resident steel producer bolstered the industry, but at the cost of the beauty of the city founded at the confluence of five rivers. The hills around the city vary from 10 to 500 meters above sea level forming a natural amphitheater. By the end of the 1930’s a recession that paralleled “The Great Depression” in the U.S. had taken a toll on all industrial areas, and Sheffield was no exception.

That recession was soon over as European factories began gearing up for war. Sheffield quickly regained its spot as a world class steel producer, making weapons and ammunition for the coming World War. The very same industry that had made Sheffield prosperous during the good times, also made it perilous
