Hermann park is the first public park built in the city of Houston. It was given to the city in 1914 by George Hermann. At the park you will find picnic areas, running trails, dog areas and more. One place to go in the park is McGovern Lake. McGovern Lake is an eight acre lake with two islands which host migratory birds. Visitors can rent paddle boats and kids and seniors can fish from Bob's Fishing Pier.
