Digg it UP - A Personal Experience of BVI Sailing Vacations
How the Rules of Dating Have Changed ally amazing and diverse, and of course the sailing is remarkable. There always seems to be at leThe rules of dating have changed drastically for American singles in this modern age of Internet dating services and fast-paced living. The rules of dating for both men and women have become a lot more complicated than they were a generation or so ago. I am happy with these changes because I think that the old social norms are flawed. The traditional approach where women waited to be pursued and never made the first move should be left behind in the past. These old norms are really unfair to men who would rather take a more passive role and to women who had more dominant personalities. In the past the rules were clear and understood by everyone, but everything is now different. The passing of time made have things much more complicated than they have ever been. Fortunately, people can turn to dating services that can help them understand the present rules of dating.Everything is quite simple if you go to a speed dating event. All you have to do is talk for a few minutes to a variety of potential matches. Perhaps you will be able to find people who have tastes that are similar to yours. From there the rules of dating will sort themselves out. However, nobody is sure if the social norms will stabilize and make the rules of dating easier to decode. Nevertheless, knowledge about the proper thing to do on a date is a matter of great importance for both men and women. In this day and age, many advice columnists and writers make their whole career off of people's dating anxiety. Every one of each of them has a different approach when it comes to rules of dating. I think that there is no satisfactory guide to dating etiquette because we are in such an informal culture. The key to being in a date is to always act comfortable and at ease. If you are at ease, then your manner can put other people at ease. Your date can still be a success, even if you do not have a perfect grasp of the rules of dating. Stress Management: Stress in the Workplace I read all the travel books, watched all the travel videos and visited all the websites. I was still blown away by the BVI. Words and even pictures are simply incapable of communicating the simple, laid back grandeur of the islands. Why are you so busy? Do you really have too much work? Is work so important to you that you'll sacrifice just about anything in your life to get the job done? Even if it's at the expense of your health and your relationships? Stress in the workplace can be caused by many factors, however from my experience I've found for many people it is their inability to organise themselves and their time. They also have difficulty saying 'no'. Or worse still, you may be a work addict. Are You A Work Addict?Do you work more than 50 hours a week?Do you dream about work?Do you feel that in order to succeed you must work late most of the time? Are you a stranger in your own home?Do you constantly miss family and social events because you're always working?Do you schedule and undertake more than you can get done in a 40-hour work week?Do you get bored when you're not working? Is missing family and social events because of work unavoidable? When on holiday do you constantly check your phone messages and email?Your ScoreThe greater the number of yes answers, the closer you are to fitting the profile of a work addict? If you've answered yes to more than half of the questions, it's time to take stock before you lose your health, family and everything you hold near and dear to your heart.Do a StocktakeEvaluate what you do and the importance of your role. Are you appreciated for all those long hours you've put in? Does it really make a difference to your income? Is stress in the workplace a figment of your imagination or is it really the fact that you are filling your life with work to avoid dealing with your personal life?Gary's StoryIn one of our coaching sessions, Gary told me he wanted to expand his social circle yet didn't have time because he worked from 7.30 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. most days. He said he'd been doing this for years and that it was 'the norm' in his profession. He said stress in the workplace was a major concern for many of his colleagues. As I continued to question him about why it was standard procedure to work these ridiculous hours, he realised that those colleagues who succumbed to this belief were all very unhappy individuals. Most of them were divorced just like he was and had no-one to go home to. They u The British Virgin Islands are a truly remarkable place. The islands are very diverse in terrain and foliage. Words and even pictures are simply incapable of communicating the simple, laid back grandeur of the islands.I started using the browser Firefox on my Mac recently. It automatically included a ‘Latest Headlines’ link.Since I’ve sworn off listening, reading or watching the news, and have done so successfully for a couple of years, I decided to remove the link from my bookmarks toolbar. So I took my mouse over to the ‘latest headlines’ link to drag it into the trash. As I clicked on it I saw a whole list of headlines pop up and decided to take a look at what people were being exposed to that day.Just reading them gave me the chills. Here’s a sample.Train crash kills 30 in Valencia Militants ‘killed’ in Afghanistan Murdured girl buried in Belgium Eight die in fresh Iraq bombings ‘Five killed’ in Sri Lanka blast 28-day terror limit ‘inadequate’ Paranoia appears more commonThat last headline really summed it up. ‘Paranoia appears more common.’ Well, dah. How can you not feel more paranoid when your mind is constantly exposed to this barrage of negative news. Even occasional inspiring stories do not eliminate the stress of what makes up the news these days. Just like a few flowers growing in a dump site don’t get rid of the garbage.Further more, when reading anything, you ‘HEAR’ the words in your mind, even though you’re not vocalizing them. Imagine the effect then that a news broadcast has as it brings these stories to life on TV. Just the sound itself is damaging your cells. It boils down to getting a daily recipe for depression. A recipe that is totally preventative.I also have to remind myself, that the brain does NOT know the difference between what’s real and what’s not. What you see and hear is what your mind accepts as your reality. The sounds and pictures you expose yourself to become who you are.Pretty powerful. And, if you ask me - incredibly liberating. Because, YOU can decide what to expose your mind to. Just like physical exercise trains your body, inspiring words and sound literally rewire your mind.Yes, my friend, there is a science to this. Good news is that it’s easy to focus on what makes you feel good. Especially if you’re exposed to ancient formulas for prosperity. You see, wealth has been created for eons. It’s just that most people don’t know how to go about attracting monee into their lives.Instead of spending time surfing the internet, going to chat rooms and watching teevee, don’t you th The British Virgin Islands are a truly remarkable place. The islands are very diverse in terrain and foliage. The snorkeling around the islands is equally amazing and diverse, and of course the sailing is remarkable. There always seems to be at leThe elephant is the largest land animal on Earth. An elephant can carry a load of 1,200 pounds and they eat 300 pounds of food a day. Elephants can live up to 70 years or more. Elephants are incredibly social creatures with lasting memories, and they can communicate over long distances through low range sound waves that are inaudible to humans. There are two types of elephants, the African elephant and the Indian elephant (a.k.a. Asian elephant). African elephants can be identified by their larger ears. The African elephant grows up to 10 feet tall and weighs as much as 12,000 pounds. The Indian elephant grows up to 9 feet tall, and weighs up to 8,000 pounds and is easier to identify because of its smaller ears. Most circus elephants are Indian elephants. An elephant calf is usually born into an extended family, which includes a cohesive group of females and their young. These families are headed by an older female elephant who serves as matriarch. At 14 years of age, adult male elephants, or bulls, leave the herd rejoining females only at breeding times. The bulls either range alone or join other bull elephants in "bachelor herds".It is the mother elephant's responsibility to provide a 250-pound newborn with milk; but, the whole herd pitches in when it comes to caretaking and protecting baby elephants from predators. The mother elephant receives help from aunts, sisters, and cousins who serve as nannies and are learning how to care for babies. Teaching a potential mother how to rear her calf is an important task, since the calves' survival depends on it. Since elephants bear young only once every few years, each baby is essential to the herd's ultimate survival. What is a MasterMind Group ally amazing and diverse, and of course the sailing is remarkable. There always seems to be at least a gentle breeze, and the seas are seldom very rough. The islands make visible, line of site, destinations that even the most novice navigator could find.A mastermind group is a collection of people from the same or different educational, financial, and cultural backgrounds who meet periodically to discuss issues that they face in the world. These issues can be anything the group would like to discuss. Many mastermind groups have been founded for specific reasons that the members have agreed are issues that interest them and need to be addressed. Mastermind groups have been started in many different fields including business, retail, real estate, education, and others. A group is usually eight to ten people who meet regularly at a specified meeting place. The mastermind group was founded on the theory that two or more minds working toward a solution to an issue is better than one mind working alone. The group members feel that as individuals their judgment is not always accurate when trying to work through an issue at work or in business because they are bringing in too many other issues into the mix. A mastermind group can help a person stay focused on one issue. Everyone will work to solving the issue or at least offer advice on what to do next.It is up to the group to decide how often they want to meet and where. They will also decide who will bring an issue to the table and who will start the discussion. It is a good idea to designate a moderator each time the group meets so that the group stays focused. As in any group setting, individuals will find a few people that they are closer to than others. This may pose a problem for some. Being able to trust everyone in the group is important and should be established early on so that people do not branch off into smaller groups within the group and begin to take sides when tough issues come up.This is the unfortunate outcome of many groups. But by discussing these pitfalls early on, hopefully they will not become problems for the group later on. A mastermind group can be a powerful force in a person’s life. Having others to talk candidly with about important matters is a great relief to many people. This was my first bareboat experience, and I have very little sailing experience prior to my trip. One of the most remarkable discoveries to me was that bareboat chartering is within the grasp of average middle class people. T
