Used Farm Equipment: A Farmer's Vintage Collection nditions and often with few advantages, you may hear a voice inside that says to you, "I can do something significant too."
Ever wondered why antiques are so expensive and valuable? This is because they are commonly known as the representation of a specific era with its distinguishing style and design. It is not surprising why antiques are important to anxious collectors who of different antiques from across the globe. Among the several antique home equipment available, furnitures are mostly sought. However, a farm equipment can also become a classic and an antique. You might be surprised to know that a used farm equipment such as used tractors can gain value as that of vintage cars.By valuing the antique product, people also value the importance of its era. For, antiques are things created during a certain era -- making it more or less a hundred years old. Of course, it is not necessary for an object to reach a hundred years before it gains reverence and value. The furniture or product just needs a simple touch of a certain character from a certain era. Then, it can be considered a classic. What is a classic? It goes beyond time. Antiques are classic; they are priceless. But antiques are more on the context of style and design, while a classic focuses more on the aspect of time only. Let's take the case of a classic car. You see, a vintage car is the most famous collection of most affluent people. What is more important in vintage cars is their design and style than their engines. People usually change the car engines and retain its outside and interior design. However, the case is different with that of a farm equipment.A farmer needs to ensure the efficiency of a used farm equipment in order to secure his living. Once the equipment becomes dysfunctional, his source of income will immediately be affected. Thus, the design of a farm equipment is not as important as its efficiency unlike other antique products. For, other antiques are good only for display. If the equipment has already given up with its work, then it must rest eternally. So, the farmer needs a new one to sustain his living. However, there are used tractors that can become a farmer's vint "Make no little plans; they have no magic to stir men's blood." The quote is from Daniel H. Burnham. Here's a thumbnail sketch of the man behind the quote. Burnham, who's the subject of Erik Larson's beautifully written new book "The Devil In The White City," was the man who made the Chicago World's Fair happen. He was Director of Works, World's Columbian Exposition, 1893. Burnham and his partner John Wellborn Root designed some of Chicago' Russia At A Glance - Why Do You Need To Invest In Russia? Harry Truman stated, "The only new thing in the world is the history that you don't know."
Russia is still an emerging market and the challenges are plenty. However, the country’s economic growth has been remarkable, with an average seven percent GDP growth backed by the favorable energy situation on the world markets, tighter government budget policy, and faster development of other key industry sectors, such as machinery, automotive, info-communication, construction and food processing. The Russian government introduced positive changes into the tax system; including a flat rate of 13% for personal income tax, reducing the corporate tax rate from 35% to 24%, and reducing the value-added tax (VAT) to 18%. Surpassing even some developed economies, Russia reduced its public debt to 13% of its GDP . Finally, Russia’s evolving middle class creates a strong consumption wave that is a tremendous boost for the Russian economy.Yet, Russian economic problems and challenges are well-known: corruption and bureaucratic red-tape hampers foreign investment and small business development, while omnipresent piracy hits hard the image of Russia’s intellectual property environment. And on top of this, demographic decline will be a negative factor for the future generations of Russians.Let’s have a glance at some major achievements for the past decade. The financial instability and shock of foreign investors after the “Black Tuesday of 1998” changed to favourable admittance of positive changes – most of Russia’s international credit rating institutions gradually moved Russian ratings to the higher hierarchy, unthinkable just a few years ago.The infamous Paris Club debt was fully paid well before its deadline, while the newly created Russian Stabilisation Fund brought the first interest rate profits. After years of having its currency under strict government control, the Russian government made the ruble fully convertible. Incredibly, the resurgence of the Russian economy from the shock and shambles of 1990’s disastrous privatisation, is reflected by its jump into the third position as the country with top Foreign Currency rese Truman spent many years studying the history of those who preceded him. His study paid off. Truman today is regarded as one of America's greatest Presidents. The reason history is important is because we live in a cause-and-effect universe. Similar choices produce similar results at the individual (micro) level and at the national (macro) level. History is the story of choices made, and the results of those choices. LESSON ONE: Look For What Worked And What Didn't Work, And Why You can use history like a case study in business school. Example: Mark Twain became a partner in a publishing company, Webster & Co., which published the " Personal Memoirs of U. S. Grant." Twain also obtained the rights to Pope Leo III's authorized biography. The first book became a best seller. The second sold poorly. Both publications seemed like good ideas. Twain assumed that purchasing the Pope's biography would be required reading for American Catholics. It wasn't. At that time many working-class Irish and German Catholics couldn't read and those who could had little discretionary income for purchasing books. Grant's memoirs became a literary and financial triumph because it was written by a popular President who had just died, it provided an insider's account of the Civil War, which was a fascinating topic for millions, and it was beautifully written. Ted Turner is the biggest-thinking individual I have ever known personally. He literally changed the world with CNN. Changing the world is exactly what he intended to do. I was an on-air host and producer at TBS when CNN was being planned. But I had no idea how big Ted was thinking. And where did Ted Turner get his inspiration? From history. One of Turner's favorite characters as a youth was Alexander the Great, who is reported to have wept because there were no more worlds left for him to conquer. Given the recent terrorist attacks, security cameras have taken on a whole new meaning in the 21-st Century. Previously, the thought of security cameras recording and keeping a record of people’s activities were met with strong resistance as a harmful intrusion on our freedoms. How could we allow anybody to watch us, record us and look over our shoulders? Is this not America? The ACLU and other legal watchdog groups would have been all over the courts to stop them before they became widespread. In the post 9/11 world we cry out for more protection, demanding our government do everything in its power to stop these madmen from hurting people, especially here in America. And security cameras have leaped into the forefront of that battle, recording the movements of suicide bombers and other terrorists, hopefully preventing them from wreaking havoc.Recently, there were terrorist attacks in London. Four separate locations were hit – three separate subway stations and one double-decker bus. As the airwaves filled with news of the attacks, one bit of information stood out. The investigation into who committed these horrific acts would involve checking the footage on 1800 security cameras around town. 1800 cameras! It turns out that London has the most pervasive security camera system in the world. You can use history like a case study in business school. How to Find General Operating FundsGeneral operating money is certainly one of the more difficult categories of funding to secure, mostly because it’s a lot less appealing to the funder. Let’s face it, paying rent is not nearly as sexy as helping people fulfill their potential as human beings. However, there are unrestricted grants out there, if you know where to look.My first suggestion would be to look at your current list of donors: they are always your best prospect list for future gifts. Look for those that have been consistent givers with whom you have built a relationship, who have a deep confidence in your programs already. Supporters who have granted your requests regularly and easily in the past may have the ability to give more if asked. Some of these supporters may already give general operating gifts; others may need a bit of gentle convincing. Do your homework and review their giving guidelines before making your request.Secondly, you should always write operating costs into program grants when possible. Most foundations understand that extra programming leads to increased indirect costs (e.g. electricity, rent, computer use, etc) and expect to see this line in the budget. Depending on the funder, you may write anywhere from 2%-20% of indirect costs into a program budget.Thirdly, if you don’t already have a larger fundraising plan, now is the time to make one. Funding your organization with grants alone is very risky because their funding comes and goes with the whims of the economy. In the stock market slump between 2001-2003, many foundations cut back or eliminated grant gifts altogether. A good fundraising plan should be diversified and incorporate income from corporations, individuals, and income-generating projects as much as possible, as these funds are unrestricted. Finally, if all else fails and you are still looking to grants for these funds, there are indeed foundations that grant such requests. They are limited in number, and the competition is stiff, so it’s a good idea to start with those in And where did Ted Turner get his inspiration? From history. I love lanyards, they are such a neat little invention that can be used for a ton of different circumstances. Some common ways to use a lanyard is to assemble them into badge holders. There are various layouts you can apply to badges as well such as different size customizations including the landscape size setting. In addition to sizes, there are a multitude of different colors and styles that you can go for. Even the actual material of the lanyard may vary. Hypothetically you can have it personalized out of any material you so choose as long as it's within reason.Lanyards are used in every single market you can name, from recreational to heavy industrial concerns. Schools, corporations, privately owned businesses, and Municipal entities rely on lanyards and often take them for granted because they are so inconspicuous on an operational basis yet are there when we need it.Remember all those times you swiped you security clearance card on your way to work. Well it's perhaps attached to a lanyard am I right? What about when you take your kids to softball practice and officiate a game. The whistle ain't floating in thin air by itself, it's probably cusped around your lanyard. If you drive to work along the highway and need to pay a toll, you probably have your toll pass situated around the lanyard which makes it a no-brainer to swipe as you go by. Or how bout a pass for your parking space? Yes very handy indeed.Lanyards can hold all sorts of printed material as well as have the actual lanyard material be custom imprinted with your company or organization's name. This allows you to carry your personal pride of your work everywhere you go!If you are hosting a conference or are attending one, you will probably have a lanyard that carries a name tag that will allow everyone to greet you by your first name. This allows individuals to break the ice much more effectively.!There's multiple ways you can use a lanyard, such as having it hang around the neck, clipped on, or by using a pin. Christie Hefner, chairman and chief executive, Playboy Enterprises, recently told a New York Times writer that she had learned an invaluable leadership lesson from Lincoln. Here is a quote from that interview: "In leadership, it isn't about what you say; it's about what the other person hears. If you articulate well, like Lincoln, you have a tendency to think: 'I've made myself clear.' But the point is, Lincoln realizes, what did the other person hear?" Lincoln is generally thought of as a politician, which he was, but his vocation was the law. He served about 1500 days as President and 23 years as a lawyer. During that time he tried approximately 5000 cases, an average of about 200 a year. In the huge Eight Judicial Circuit of Central Illinois, Lincoln had the largest single caseload. During his career, Lincoln was involved in 15 murder cases. Of those, four men were found not guilty (one by reason of insanity), two were indicted but not prosecuted, one escaped during trial, six were convicted on the lesser charge of manslaughter, and only two were found guilty and sentenced to hang. (Lincoln Legal Briefs, July-September 1996, No. 39) Lincoln understood that compromise is necessary in everyday life. "Persuade your neighbors to compromise whenever you can," he wrote in a lecture for lawyers. "Point out to them how the nominal winner is often a real loser--in fees, and expenses, and waste of time." Learn about how Linc
