A new product recently came out called Affiliate Project X. Yes, I bought the product mainly because I felt the author had some good suggestions in his first e-book, Adwords Miracle. If you've looked up anything about affiliate project x, you'll see that Google Adwords is now flooded with copy cat web pages as are some of the organic search results. One of the main characteristics you will find about most of these pages is that they all have different domain names and they use a link cloaking method so that only the domain shows up when you click on the "buy now" button and not the affiliate link. Now before you rush out to try and put this link cloaking method into practice, let me be the one to tell you the same thing I told the author of Adwords Miracle and Affiliate Project X, the link cloaking method he proposes does not work. In fact, someone is probably making a lot of money because of this alone.

The link cloaking method that has been promoted in Adwords Miracle and Affiliate Project X is faulty because it uses frames, a cloaking method not allowed by Clickbank. Maybe at one time, this method did work. However, I tested the method out several months ago when I first bought Adwords Miracle and I've been testing several methods out since then. The fact that the method does not work was something I did email the author about, in fact, I sent out several emails with the same message - the link cloaking method does not work.

Yesterday, I spent a while testing out the method again and I discovered that if you go to one of the websites that uses frames in order to make it appear that you are still at the same website when the affiliate product page appears, you are not being credited as the affiliate. The affiliate who will be credited is the last referring person who decided to use an approved link cloaking method instead of frames or decided not to use link cloaking at all. I went back today, and it seems that many affiliates are rightly changing their links in order not to use frames and not get credit for the sales.

Now, while I think link cloaking is great, my opinion of the method proposed in Adwords Miracle and Affiliate Project X is that it is highly deceptive and honest affiliate marketers are not going to be swayed into using it as they know in the long run, they will end up losing money.
