Pain - 7 Ways To Head Off A Migraine
Twenty-Eight million Americans experience pain from migraine headaches and a great many have no clue as to what to do about it. That means about one person in every four households experiences throbbing head pain. Migraine pain can last from 4 to 72 hours, knocking a person out of commission. But much can be done to minimize attacks and ease the symptoms. This article addresses ways to head off and even eliminate migraines. This article contains advice from Seymour Diamond, M.D. director and founder of the Diamond Headache Clinic in Chicago, who states that pain may be triggered by certain foods, stress, and a drop in barometric pressure or fluctuating hormones. Lower Back Pain - The Role Of Hamstrings
Lower back pain is most commonly from spinal nerve root L5 irritation followed by the S1 nerve root. Both nerve roots are strongly represented in the buttock muscle (gluteus maximus: predominant S1) and the inner thigh muscle (adductor magnus: the lower part L5, S1), hamstring muscles (L5 and S1), gluteus medius (predominant L5) and tensor fascia lata (predominant L5).
There are two parts tto the long hamstring muscles, the outer part (has one lateral muscle) and the inner part has (two medial) muscles. There is also another muscle known as the short hamstring muscle.

Lower Back Pain The Role Of Calf Muscles
Lower back pain causes calf muscle pain and tightness and the calf muscles play a huge role in the development and maintenance of lower back pain. These calf muscles (gastrocnemius and soleus) are usually tight in most people especially in women wearing shoes with high heels. Calf muscle cramps are extremely painful and often awaken people during sleep. These cramps are a warning that there is nerve related muscle problems stemming from spinal nerve root involvement in the lower back. This is usually the case if you have calf muscle tightness and frequent night cramps even if you have no complaints of lower back pain or lower limb pain.

Secondary Headaches
Headaches come in many forms, all are unpleasant and some more debilitating than others. Primary headaches, while painful, are not harmful and can be treated with various medications with varying degrees of success. What a patient should be aware of, however, is whether or not the headache is indicative of a larger and potentially serious, life-threatening condition or disease. The classification of headaches into primary and secondary has been documented since 400 B.C. when Hippocrates designated headaches into these two categories. Secondary headaches are always indicative of an underlying condition or disease that should be taken seriously. Some diseases and conditions the sinister secondary headache could be indicative of are meningitis, cerebrovascular disease, infection, brain tumor, head trauma, diabetes, thyroid disease, TMJ (temporomandibular joint pain), glaucoma or withdrawal from painkillers.
