We may become discouraged at our results for we seem to gather in so little fruit: a life changed here, a little victory over a temptation there. But Christ bids us to let down our net again, to continue our work, and to trust that He pulls in the net with us.

Be Kind to the Kin

Loving someone is sometimes the easy part; it is the living with someone that turns our heart into sour mash that becomes bitter and unpalatable.

Purpose in Life

I think we all need to focus on a purpose in life. It saddens me deeply to see the way some of our young people are being wasted. They are told they have evolved from slime, so why should they feel good about themselves? Why should they feel they are responsible for their own actions, if those actions are predetermined by a genetic makeup over which they have no control?

God's Loving Hedge

It is our decision to circumvent God's hedge or to accept its boundaries of love for us, through prayer and the diligent reading of His instructions that are in His Word to us.

True Heroes

The true hero gets out of bed every morning no matter how s/he feels and gets on with life and kids and work. It may not pay today but it will surely pay high dividends in ten or twenty years from now.

Love Yourself, Too

The acronym JOY goes thus: Jesus, Others, and You. This is the priority. But you are in there also to be loved, for Jesus loves you.

The Lily and the Thorn

Are we a lily or a thorn? God's grace dignifies us that we may flourish as the lily rather than make thorns of our surroundings because we lack decency and graciousness.

Leap and the Net (Or Someone's Arms) Will Appear

I saw a live Lasik procedure on the Today show a few months back. I don't know all the details because I tuned in at the end, but apparently there is a new procedure that makes laser eye correction even easier. When I tuned in they were just having the patient sit up after the procedure and she was shocked and amazed to be able to see (as you would expect). She said she had had glasses since she was 7 and this was the first time she could remember being able to see without glasses or contacts. As someone who has worn glasses since 3rd grade myself, I can relate to how that must feel.

Give A Smile-Get A Smile

Have you wondered why there is so much clinical depression in the world today? Ask yourself why our young people are so distressed. Why so many of them attempt suicide or worse the murder of their classmates or families. Do you conclude as I do that we need more of a personal touch?

The One

There is a lot of talk about the One in New Age and alternative circles. The amazing success of the film What the Bleep!?, brought home to many the reality of the quantum world and the unusual state of perception that we exist in. But during the whole film there was no mention of our past. There was no indication whether ancient man had ever understood such so-called realities before the 20th and 21st centuries. Is this arrogance? That only we in the modern age can understand such concepts? Or is it a lack of understanding and knowledge of the mind of our ancestors? I decided it was time to discover whether ancient man could have possibly known about the quantum realm of Oneness. But first we have to understand it ourselves before we can see the clues our ancestors left behind.
