The Pompous, Pious Pontius Pilate

During this week of Christ's passion, I can't help but try to fathom all the intregal parts that everyone played in this most dramatic of all human events. In reviewing all the things that had to take place in order for this prophecy to be fulfilled, we have to stop and consider some of the key players and their personalities. One of these star performers in carrying out what God had foreordained, is Pontius Pilate. Even though as we read the scriptures, he doesn't appear to be such a bad guy, but two words came to my mind in describing him. Those two words are pompous, and pious. Does this tell you anything about him? He had an attitude to say the least.
