I was thinking the other day (No cracks from my friends please.) about the subtle differences between words that are commonly used, sometimes not used or mis-used. Let me give you an example. I'm sorry. This simple two word sentence can be interpreted so many ways and have so many different meanings for both the person who speaks them and the person who they are directed toward.

Intimacy is very important to keep a relationship alive and so is passion. Never feel shy to experiment to make your relationship interesting. Love in itself is interesting and to experiment more on that adds excitement, vigor and vitality. So keep experimenting.

The situation requires acceptance and forgiveness. Can you accept and forgive without dwelling on the idea that it is truly none of your business whether the other person will mend the hole that is now part of your heart?

Each day count your blessings to be alive and able to love. Although emotion may suggest that life is not always fair, never allow the pains, hurdles, and disappointments of the moment to overwhelm your loving attitude and plans for yourself and your beloved. What you don’t appreciate, depreciates. You can never win when you wear the resentful mask of self-pity, and the bitter taste of accusation. They will certainly frighten away any opportunity for love. Never again hold a critical thought for yourself or your beloved. There is a better way.

Emotion is the language of the ego. Emotion is the most wonderful honesty about how you feel, think and see life. But if you think your emotions are anything but a witnessing of your own “unconsciousness”, you may have a big problem in life. Emotions block love. No relationship, sacred or otherwise, can thrive when a couple considers their emotions a foundation. Those emotions are so changeable.

Remember that effort you put into your relationship in the first months or year? Remember how important making love and holding hands was before the children came along? Remember those tears of gratitude that welled up in your eyes each time you woke beside your lover, or had candlelit dinners?

Presents will never make up for the lack of presence.

When girl meets boy, and they begin a new relationship with each other, they tend to look at their partner through a telescope. I have recently encountered the words 'Cougar Women' - a term dreamt up by some male or possibly jealous young female to describe an older woman engaged in a relationship with a younger man. The description 'Cougar Woman' infers a predatory mature woman (35-50+) who hunts, stalks, lusts after and imposes her attentions upon some innocent, inexperienced young male. The traditional description for the older male who does likewise is, 'Sugar Daddy' -- Would it not be appropriate, in light of today's touted 'equality of the sexes' to apply the description of Panther Daddy? Or, where the male is a cheating spouse, then perhaps 'Cheetah Daddy' may fit the bill?

It feels so good when...This would be the perfect relationship, but who has this?

What friendship can be when one or the other perseveres, and the other is humbled.

Too often we think we have successfully compromised or negotiated an issue with a loved one and, in fact, we have actually given up, given in or settled.

How many times this week only, you had an encounter with someone who either pushed your buttons or you simply didn’t like, meaning, the chemistry wasn’t there? It happens often. We hate the guts of this or that person, or we think that there is something wrong with them.
